Coaches and their wards: habituation of relationships in biathlon clubs

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá habitualizací vztahů mezi trenéry a sportovci a sportovkyněmi v biatlonovém klubu. Výzkum se věnuje tématu výběru a upřednostňování talentovaných jedinců do vrcholového sportu a případného vlivu těchto potenciálních segregací na mezilidské vztahy v klubu. Práce se zaměřuje na genderovou problematiku, zejména na postavení žen v biatlonu. Terénní výzkum byl realizovaný v Biatlonovém klubu Letohrad. Prováděla jsem nezúčastněné a zúčastněné pozorování, polostrukturované a nestrukturované rozhovory s informanty - sportovci, trenéry. V práci jsou využity koncepty Foucaulta a Bourdieho.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the habituation of relationships between coaches and athletes in a biathlon club. The research is devoted to the topic of selecting and prioritizing talented individuals for top sport and the possible effect of these potential segregations on interpersonal relationships in the club. The work focuses on gender issues, especially the position of women in biathlon. Field research was carried out in the Letohrad Biathlon Club. I conducted non-participant and participant observation, semi-structured and unstructured interviews with informants - athletes, coaches. The concepts of Foucault and Bourdie are used in the work.
