The Internet and Human Rights

Anotace:

Tato práce řeší současná úskalí internetu, který je součástí každodenního života a slouží jako nástroj pro vznik a vyhledávání informací, ale také pro komunikaci s lidmi z celého světa a z různých kulturních oblastí. Dodržování lidských práv je důležité nejen v komunikaci prostřednictvím internetu, ale i pro národní a mezinárodní vztahy a bezpečné užívání internetových sítí. Při vysokém rozmachu technologie internetu posledních let je jednou z výzev kybernetická bezpečnost, která hraje v aktuálním politickém dění velkou roli nejen v Evropské unii. V České republice existuje základní listina práv a svobod, která každému občanu České republiky zaručuje práva vůči státu a také všeobecně vůči společnosti. Většina práv z listiny patří zároveň i mezi lidská práva a to znamená, že se na ně mohou odvolat nejen občané České republiky, ale také všichni lidé, kteří žijí v České republice. Tato práce je zaměřena na uplatňování uvedených práv v prostředí internetu a na kybernetickou bezpečnost. Také se věnuje uplatňování lidských práv na internetu jak v České republice, tak i v rámci Evropské unie, kde se zabývá Evropskými digitálními právy.

Abstract:

This paper deals with the topic of the Internet nowadays when the internet has become a global means of communication in our everyday lives. This means that the internet serves as a tool of spreading and searching information. Otherwise, people have the possibility to communicate to people of different cultures. Therefore, human rights are essentialy to the communication on the Internet. They are also really important to nationally and internationally relationships and guarentee a peaceful coexistence on the Internet. However, according to the highly development of the internet technology there are essential challenges of cyber security in the past last years. This takes an important part in relation to the current political troubles that not only took in the European Union place. In the Czech Republic exists the fundamental Charter of Rights and Freedoms, so every citizen of the Czech Republic could insist on this charter against the state but also against society in general. Most of Charter rights are human rights so therefore not only the citizens of the Czech Republic could refer to it, but also everybody who lives in the Czech Republic. This paper takes a focus on the application of those rights based on the Internet and the cybersecurity. This paper also deals with the application of the human rights on the Internet. On the one hand this paper adresses the situation within the Czech Republic and on the other hand within the European Union and in context to the European Digital Rights.
