Physiotherapy for knee injuries in basketball

Abstract:

Úvod: Problematiku poranění kolenního kloubu u sportovců jsem zvolil proto, že sám hraji basketbal a s tímto druhem zraněním se setkávám často. Další motivací je zlepšení rehabilitačních postupů u poranění kolenního kloubu a snížení recidiv u tohoto typu zranění. Cíl práce: Cílem práce je přispět k řešení problematiky volby vhodných fyzioterapeutických postupů, metod a konceptů u pacienta s rupturou LCA. Metodika: V první části se zabývám rešerší a shrnutím teoretických poznatků o daném tématu. V druhé části se zabývám kazuistikou dvaadvacetiletého profesionálního basketbalisty s rupturou LCA. Celá fyzioterapeutická intervence trvala 6 týdnů. Nejprve jsem udělal vstupní kineziologický rozbor, na jehož základě jsem připravil krátkodobý plán fyzioterapie. V půlce intervence jsem udělal kontrolní měření na svalovou sílu, rozsah pohybu a obvody DKK. Na konci jsem zpracoval výstupní kineziologický rozbor a navrhl dlouhodobý plán fyzioterapie. Výsledky: Během fyzioterapeutické intervence se mi podařilo s pacientem dosáhnout plné flexe i extenze v kolenním kloubu. Zvětšila se také svalová síla. Pacient se cítí po intervenci velmi dobře a je rád, že může dále pokračovat ve svém sportu. Závěry: S pacientem se mi spolupracovalo velmi dobře. Byla zjevná jeho motivace co nejdříve se vrátit do tréninkového procesu, což bez pochyby zvýšilo úspěch terapie. Doufám, že touto prací přispěji k výběru vhodných fyzioterapeutických metod po plastice LCA.

Abstract:

Introduction: I chose the issue of knee-joint injuries in athletes because I play basketball myself, and I encounter this kind of injury often. My motivation is improving rehabilitation procedures for knee joint injuries and reducing recurrence in this type of injury The objective: The aim of the work is to contribute to addressing the issue of choice of appropriate physiotherapy procedures, methods and concepts in a patient with rupture LCA plastic. Methodology: In the first part, I deal with the research and the summary of theoretical knowledge on the subject. In the second part, I look at the casework of a 22-year-old professional basketball player with an LCA rupture. The entire physiotherapy intervention lasted 6 weeks. First, I did an initial kinesiological analysis, based on which I prepared a short-term physiotherapy plan. Halfway through the intervention, I took follow-up measurements for muscle strength, range of motion, lower legs circumference. At the end, I prepared an exit kinesiological analysis and designed a long-term physiotherapy plan. Results: During the physiotherapy intervention, I was able to achieve full flexion and extension in the knee joint with the patient. Muscle strength also increased. The patient feels very good after the intervention and is happy to continue his sport. Conclusions: The patient was very good to work with. His motivation to return to the training process as soon as possible was evident, which no doubt increased the success of the therapy. I hope to contribute with this work to the selection of appropriate physiotherapy methods after LCA plasty.
