Abstract:

Utváření současné vizuální kultury se bezesporu neobejde bez podílu komunity grafických designérů. Autor se ve své tvůrčí praxi zaměřuje na výtvarné uchopování vizuálních akcentů kulturní krajiny, kterými se často nechává inspirovat ve své práci. Text je rozdělen na dvě části teoretickou a praktickou. První část lze povařovat za teoretickou studii, jež se zabývá vztahem grafického designu k výtvarnému umění ve spojitosti s veřejným prostorem kulturní krajiny a její přirozenou spiritualitou. Sleduje základní témata výtvarných akcí v přírodě či hledá duchovní náboj současného umění. Z pohledu zvolené disciplíny grafického designu se zaměřuje na vztah oboru k minulosti či na elementární grafické vyjadřovací prostředky v podobě archetypálních znaků a symbolů, které nalézá i v současných realizacích. Druhá část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení kontextu projektu ATLAS FUNERAL, jehož hlavním výstupem byla publikace. Za účelem jejího sepsání se sešla čtveřice autorů, v té době studentů doktorského studia na čtyřech odlišných českých vysokých školách zabývajících se vizuální kulturou. Jedná se tedy o umělecko-historický vhled do této specifické problematiky. Hřbitovní prostor nebyl vybrán náhodně. Unikátní typ umělé krajiny, který odráží historicko-kulturní dění ve společnosti tak slouží, podobně jako živelně rostlá struktura města, jako vzorník vizuální kultury jednotlivých dekád. Záměrem autorů bylo rozšířit akademický dialog o prakticky specializované umělecké obory, které mohou do diskuze vnést nové postřehy. Hlavní výzkumná otázka této práce se váže k porovnání strategií a tvůrčích metod grafických designerů a vizuálních umělců ve vztahu k definovanému tématu historické kontinuity kulturní krajiny a jejího přirozeného spirituálního rozměru. Tento předpoklad se podařilo částečně potvrdit obzvláště u projektů, které souvisejí s vazbou k regionálním tématům, kdy je pro autory důležitým zdrojem inspirace přímá zkušenost s lokální tradicí a prostředím.

Abstract:

Graphic designer community is without a doubt vital to the creation of contemporary visual culture. The author focuses on the artistic grasp of visual accents of cultural landscape which often inspire them in their work. The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. The first part can be considered as a theoretical study which deals with the relation between graphic design and visual arts in connection with the public space of the cultural landscape and its natural spirituality. The work follows the basic themes of art events in nature and also seeks the spiritual drive of contemporary art. From the point of view of graphic design as a chosen discipline, the thesis focuses on the relationship of the field to the past as well as on the elementary graphic means of expression in the form of archetypal characters and symbols which are also found in the contemporary realizations. The second part tries to interpret the context of the ATLAS FUNERAL project, the main output of which was a publication. In order to write it, four authors met, at that time students of doctoral studies at four different Czech universities dealing with visual culture. That means the output is an art-historical insight into this specific issue. Cemetery space was not chosen randomly. The unique type of man-made landscape, which reflects historical and cultural events in society, serves, similarly as the unrestrainedly grown structure of the city, as a sampler of visual culture of the decades. The authors' intention was to broaden out the academic dialogue on practically specialized artistic disciplines which can bring new insights into the discussion. The main research question of this thesis binds with a comparison of strategies and creative methods which graphic designers and visual artists use, in relation to the defined theme of historical continuity of cultural landscape and its natural spiritual dimension. This assumption was partially confirmed, especially for the projects which are related to the bond with regional themes when the important source of inspiration for authors is the immediate experience with local traditions and milieu.
