Microstructure Analysis of Fricrion Welded Joints

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje mikrostruktuře svařenců vyhotovených metodou frikčního svařování s promíšením. Cílem práce je analyzovat strukturu svaru a jeho okolí za účelem ilustrovaného popisu mechanismu metody. Svařence byly vyhotoveny z válcovaných plechů hliníkových slitin EN AW-5083 a EN AW-6082 v tloušťkách 4 mm a 6 mm. Teoretická část popisuje vznik a vývoj metody, vliv parametrů na jakost svařence a porovnání s konvenčními metodami. Dále hovoří o roli metalografické analýzy k hodnocení jakosti svaru. Praktická část práce poté popisuje preparaci jednotlivých vzorků, postup jejich analýzy a uvádí zjištěné výsledky, pro které rozvádí diskuzi a uvádí závěry s doporučením.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the microstructure of welds made using the friction stir welding method. The goal of the thesis is an analysis of a weld and its surroundings for the purpose of an illustrated description of the method's mechanism. The weldments were created from EN AW-5083 and EN AW-6082 aluminium alloy sheets in 4 mm and 6 mm thicknesses. The theoretical part describes the development of the method, the role of welding parameters in the weldment's quality and a comparison with conventional welding methods. The chapter also speaks about metallographic analysis and its role in determining the quality of a weld. The experimental part of the thesis then describes the process of preparing specific samples and the methods used to analyse said samples. Results of these analyses are then summarised, discussed and recommendations are given based on the findings of the thesis.
