Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím zjednodušené četby při výuce jazyka u dospělých studentů. Skládá se z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část charakterizuje osobnost dospělého studenta a podává základní informace o využití literatury v jazykových kurzech. Dále se zabývá pojmem extenzivní četba a jeho významem a přínosem ve výuce cizího jazyka. V neposlední řadě poskytuje detailní pohled na zjednodušenou četbu, jakožto efektivní metodu při výuce cizího jazyka nabízí možné způsoby jejího začlenění do výuky. Praktická část obsahuje vyhodnocení dotazníku zjišťujícího využití zjednodušené četby ve výuce dospělých studentů v jazykových školách a následně nabízí analýzu a interpretaci dat získaných od učitelů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the role of graded readers in the process of learning a foreign language of adult learners. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part provides background information about the personality of an adult learner, basic information the use of literature in language learning, discusses the topic of extensive reading its place in the language learning. It also provides the definition of the term graded reader and addresses the use of graded readers and their contribution to the foreign language learning. The practical part of this thesis deals with survey carried out to gather information about the use of graded readers in teaching adults in language schools and presents the interpretation of the survey results followed by conclusions and possible implications.
