This thesis follows up on a bachelor thesis “The study of vulcanised rubber degrada-tion processes from the historical gasmasks”. It deals with artificial ageing methods and degradation mechanisms. This was studied through mock-ups that were exposed to three different ways of artificial ageing and historical gasmasks.
