The Analysis of Incomes of Health Insurance Companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem příjmů vybraných zdravotních pojišťoven v České republice v období 2007 -- 2012. Cílem práce je poukázat na nerovnoměrnost ve výběru pojistného od jednotlivých skupin pojištěnců a strukturou těchto pojištěnců. Hlavní část tvoří analýza příjmů zdravotních pojišťoven v závislosti na struktuře pojištěnců (zaměstnanci, státní pojištěnci, osoby samostatně výdělečně činné a osoby bez zdanitelných příjmů). Práce se člení na čtyři části. První kapitola je věnována charakteristice systému zdravotních pojišťoven v ČR a typologii jednotlivých účastníků zdravotního pojištění. Druhá kapitola seznamuje se zdravotními pojišťovnami působícími v současné době (červenec 2013) na území ČR. Ve třetí části jsou analyzovány příjmy vybraných zdravotních pojišťoven v závislosti na struktuře pojištěnců. V této části jsou použita data z výročních zpráv jednotlivých zdravotních pojišťoven a také informace poskytnutých jednotlivými pojišťovnami na základě individuální žádosti. V závěrečné části jsou navrženy možné změny, jak dosáhnout zvýšení příjmů zdravotních pojišťoven.

Abstract:

This thesis analyse development of incomes of selected health insurance companies in the Czech Republic in 2007 -- 2012. The goal of this thesis is to refer the inequality in the collection of insurance payment from different groups of insured persons and the structure of insured person. Main part of the thesis is an analysis of income of health insurance companies in depend on the structure of insured persons (employees, persons for whom health insurance paid by state, self-employed persons, persons without taxable income). The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter characterizes system of health insurance in Czech Republic and typology of participants in health insurance. The second chapter introduces the health insurance companies currently operating (July 2013) in the Czech Republic. The third chapter analyzes incomes of selected health insurance companies dependently on the structure of the insured person. This section is based on data from the annual report of health insurance companies and information obtained under individual requests. Possible changes how to achieve an increase of income of health insurance companies are proposed in the final part.
