Possibilities of measurement of ocular accommodation

Abstract:

Práce je věnována problematice vyšetření velikosti akomodační amplitudy v závislosti na vertikálním pohledovém úhlu a možnostem vyšetření akomodace oka. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje především na mechanismus akomodace a anatomické struktury podílející se na tomto mechanismu. Jsou zde popsány pojmy charakteristické pro akomodaci, vliv věku na akomodaci, složky akomodace a také například poruchy akomodace. Další kapitola je věnována přímo jednotlivým možnostem vyšetření akomodace oka. Třetí kapitola popisuje konvergenci a kapitola čtvrtá akomodačně vergenční mechanismus. Praktická část se věnuje měření akomodační amplitudy v různých vertikálních pohledových úhlech. Zkoumá se zde závislost velikosti akomodační amplitudy na měřeném pohledovém úhlu a také na výšce oční štěrbiny. Celkem bylo vyšetřeno 45 osob pomocí subjektivní metody Push-up. V závěru se potvrdila závislost velikosti akomodační amplitudy na vertikálním pohledovém úhlu. Naopak závislost naměřených hodnot akomodační amplitudy na výšce oční štěrbiny se nepotvrdila.

Abstract:

The work deals with the examination of accommodative amplitude in different vertical gaze angles and the possibilities of accommodation measurements. The theoretical part focuses mainly on the mechanism of accommodation and the anatomical structure involved in this mechanism. There are described the terms characterizing accommodation, mentions the effect of age on accommodative mechanism, the accommodation components and accommodation disorder. The next chapter is devoted directly to the possibilities of measurement of ocular accommodation. The third chapter is devoted to convergence and the fourth chapter is about accommodative vergence mechanisms. The practical part deals with the measurement of the accommodative amplitude in different vertical gaze angles. Is investigated the dependence of the accommodative amplitude on the measured angle and also the dependence of the amplitude on the height of the eye slit. The research includes a set of 45 persons. They were examined using a subjective Push-up method. At the conclusion, the dependence of the size of the accommodative amplitude on the vertical gaze angles was confirmed. On the other hand, the dependence of the measured values of the accommodative amplitude on the height of the eye slit was not confirmed.
