Abstract:
Tritordeum is a new amphiploid cereal obtained by crossbreeding between Hordeum chilense and Triticum durum. This crossing enabled for the resistance of Hordeum chilense to some of the fungal diseases to be transferred into tritordeum. Tritordeum is a cereal with improved nutritional value, containing an increased amount of protein and carotenoids, especially lutein when compared to wheat. The reduced …more
