Content effect of nanostructured zinc oxide in the self-crosslinking aqueous polymer dispersion on the properties of the coating film

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o polymerních disperzích (tzv. latexech) připravených emulzní polymerací síťovaných pomocí dihydrazidu kyseliny adipové, které obsahovaly nanočástice na bázi nanostrukturního oxidu zinečnatého. Součástí je stručná literární rešerše na toto téma a témat s ním spojených. V experimentální části se práce zabývá popisem syntézy latexů a jejich následným testováním. U latexů byla proměřena jejich viskozita, pH, minimální filmotvorná teplota, obsah sušiny a koagulátu. Dále byly u latexových filmů provedeny lakařské zkoušky a zkoušky na stanovení reálného obsahu zinku, síťové hustoty a absorpce vody. Bylo zjištěno, že inkorporací nanostrukturního oxidu zinečnatého během syntézy došlo ke zvýšení síťové hustoty výsledných latexových filmů vlivem vzniku iontových vazeb, což vedlo ke zvýšení mechanické a chemické odolnosti.

Abstract:

This work deals with polymer dispersions (so-called latexes) prepared by emulsion polymerization using adipic acid dihydrazide as a cross-linking agent with increasing amount of nanoparticles based on nanostructured zinc oxide. It includes a brief literary survey on this topic and associated topics . In the experimental part the work deals with the synthesis process of latexes and their subsequent testing. Latexes are evaluated for their viscosity, pH, minimum film-forming temperature, content of dry matter and coagulate. Furthermore, latex films were subjected to painting tests and determination of the real zinc content, crosslink density and water absorption. It was found that the incorporation of nanostructured zinc oxide during the synthesis increased the crosslink density of the resulting latex films due to the formation of ionic bonds, which led to mechanical and chemical resistence of latex films.
