Abstract:

Česká republika se svými etnicky podmíněnými sociálně vyloučenými lokalitami poskytuje jedinečný kontext pro zkoumání komplexní interakce mezi sociálním vyloučením, teorií životní historie (LHT) a vírou v moralizující bohy. Cílem této práce je zaplnit mezeru v akademické literatuře zkoumáním vztahu mezi náboženskými a sociálními změnami optikou LHT, konkrétně se zaměřením na romskou populaci v České republice, a osvětlit tak i spletitost etnicity a mocenských pozic v tomto kontextu. Tato studie poukazuje na řadu paralel, které spojují sociální změnu a přijetí nové víry skrze optiku LHT. Práce ukazuje, jak je důležité rozlišovat mezi krátkodobými a dlouhodobými výkyvy prostředí a reakcemi na změny na úrovni jednotlivce a populace. Kromě toho jsou analyzovány problémy spojené se sběrem etnických dat z hlediska jejich dopadu na dosažení výzkumných cílů této studie, a také složitosti a úskalí spojené s využitím zmíněných konceptů jako teoretických nebo metodologických rámců. Práce nabízí multidisciplinární analýzu, která integruje koncepty ze společenských věd, evoluční perspektivy a religionistiky, aby poskytla vhled do dynamiky sociálního vyloučení, etnicity, LH strategií a náboženských a sociálních změn.

Abstract:

The Czech Republic, with its socially excluded localities characterised by ethnicity, has provided a unique context to explore the complex interplay between social exclusion, life history theory (LHT), and belief in moralising gods. This study aims to bridge this gap in the literature by investigating the relationship between religious and social change through the lens of LHT, specifically focusing on the Roma population in the Czech Republic, shedding light on the complexities of ethnicity and power positions in this context. This investigation highlights various similarities that connect social change and adopting a new belief through the lenses of LHT. It demonstrates the importance of distinguishing between short-term and long-term environmental fluctuations and individual and population-level responses to environmental cues. In addition, the challenges associated with ethnic data collection are analysed in terms of their impact on achieving the research objectives of this study. Moreover, the complexities and challenges associated with utilising mentioned concepts as theoretical or methodological frameworks are analyzed. In conclusion, this thesis offers a multidisciplinary analysis that integrates concepts from social sciences, evolutionary perspectives, and religious studies to provide insights into the dynamics of social exclusion, ethnicity, LH strategies, and religious and social change.
