The Dilemmas of Social Workers in Selected Personal Assistance Service

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá prožíváním dilematických situací u sociálních pracovníků, kteří pracují v sociální službě známé jako osobní asistence. Cílem práce je naleznout odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, která zní: „Jak prožívají dilematické situace sociální pracovníci při práci s klienty ve službě osobní asistence?“. Práce je členěna na tři velké kapitoly, kdy první se věnuje teoretickému uchopení tématu, kde pomocí klíčových pojmů odvozených z hlavní výzkumné otázky přibližuje dané téma z pohledu odborníků. Druhá kapitola popisuje samotný průběh výzkumu. Pro účely této práce byl vybrán kvalitativní výzkum, který byl s přihlédnutím k obsahu práce zvolen jako nejúčelnější. Samotnou metodou pro sběr dat byl zvolen polostrukturovaný rozhovor s vybranými sociálními pracovníky, kteří pracují ve službě osobní asistence. Vzhledem k obsáhlosti hlavní výzkumné otázky byly vytvořeny tři dílčí výzkumné otázky, ty byly následně podrobeny operacionalizaci, na jejímž základě byl vytvořen scénář rozhovoru. Poslední analytická a interpretační část objasňuje deskripci a interpretaci získaných dat, včetně odpovědí na výzkumné otázky společně s hlavní výzkumnou otázkou.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis addresses the experience of dilemma situations of social workers who work in the social service known as personal assistance. The aim of the thesis is to find an answer to the main research question, which is: “How do social workers experience dilemmatic situations when working with clients in the personal assistance service?” The thesis is divided into three main chapters, the first of which is devoted to a theoretical understanding of the topic, where using key concepts derived from the main research question it approaches the topic from the perspective of experts. The second chapter describes the course of the research itself. For the purposes of this thesis, a qualitative research was selected, which was, taking into account the content of the work, chosen as the most effective. The semi-structured interview with selected social workers working in the personal assistance service was chosen for the data collection method itself. Due to the extensive main research question, three partial research questions were formulated, which were subsequently subjected to operationalization, on the basis of which an interview script was created. The last analytical and interpretative part clarifies the description and interpretation of the obtained data, including the answers to the partial research questions together with the main research question.
