Participation in student organization and change of "key competencies"

Abstract:

Master’s thesis is focused on understanding of the change of key competencies that are expected by the would-be employers, This view is held from the perspective of board members of the International Student Club of Masaryk University (ISC MU) and the process of change is supposed to happened while active membership in the ISC MU. In the theoretical part, there are defined basic words such as competency, factors of the change of competencies, learning process, key competencies, social perception, active membership, student organisation. Research’s method of understanding and qualitative strategy and described in the methodological part. Research was done by using non-formal interview with ex- board members. Interpretation based on analyzed talks about main factors that have influence the process of gaining of enhancing competencies while being active in the ISC MU and about these competencies themselves which are compared to the expected key competencies. In the conclusion, there are stated the main results of the research and recommendations for the targets groups and ideas for the future research are given.

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práca je zameraná na pochopenie procesu zmeny kľúčových kompetencií očakávaných zamestnávateľom pod vplyvom aktívneho členstva v Medzinárodnom študentskom klube Masarykovej Univerzity, o. s. (ISC MU) práve z perspektívy členov výkonného výboru (tzv. boardu) danej organizácie. V teoretickej časti sú vymedzené a definované kľúčové pojmy ako kompetencia, faktory zmeny kompetencií, kľúčové kompetencie, sociálna percepcia, aktívne členstvo, študentské organizácie. V metodologickej časti je popísaná vybraná metóda porozumenia a kvalitatívna výskumná stratégia a výskumný nástroj- pološtruktúrovaný rozhovor, ktorý bol realizovaný s bývalými členmi boardu ISC MU. V empirickej časti, na základe vykonanej analýzy a interpretácie dát, sú popísané hlavné faktory vplývajúce na tento proces, kompetencie nadobudnuté alebo rozvinuté prostredníctvom aktívneho členstva v ISC MU a zároveň identifikované, ktoré z týchto kompetencií sú očakávané zamestnávateľmi. V závere sú zhodnotené hlavné zistenia práce a uvedené odporučenia pre cieľové skupiny a podnety pre ďalší výskum.
