Post-IPO European stock performance

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá výkonností akcií podniků po jejich vstupu na burzu. Cílem práce je provést analýzu dlouhodobé výkonnosti po IPO na společnostech, které vstoupily na London Stock Exchange, Euronext a Swiss Exchange mezi lety 2009-2012. Výkonnost těchto společností bude porovnávána s výkonností portfolia srovnatelných podniků vytvořeného pouze pro účely této práce. Práce je rozdělená na dvě části: V teoretické části budou vylíčena základní fakta o akciových trzích a IPO. V analytické části bude nejprve popsána metodika analýzy včetně tvorby portfolia srovnatelných podniků a následně dojde na prezentování výsledků analýzy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the post-IPO stock performance. The aim is to carry out an analysis of long-run post-IPO stock performance using data about companies that went public on London Stock Exchange, Euronext and Swiss Exchange from 2009 to 2012. The performance will be compared with portfolio performance consisting of comparable companies created only for purposes of this thesis. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts: In the theoretical part, there will be described facts about stock markets and the IPO. In the analytical part, the methodology will be established and afterwards results of analysis will be presented.
