Cílem práce je porovnat anglická a česká idiomatická přirovnání ze sémantického a formálního hlediska. Sémantická analýza se soustředí na rozdíly mezi comparatem u obou jazyků a ukazuje, že ačkoliv typ comparata je přibližně stejný, oba jazyky používají rozdílné prostředky. Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to compare English and Czech idiomatic comparisons from the semantic and formal point of view. The semantic analysis concentrates on the differences of comparatum and shows the diversity of the two languages, even though the type of comparatum is basically the same in both languages.
