Reflection of youth in the press of the Second Republic and the beginning of the Protectorate

Abstract:

Práce zkoumá obraz mládeže v tisku druhé republiky a novinách vydaných během prvních osmi měsíců Protektorátu Čechy a Morava. Zaměřuje se na způsob jakým novináři ze tří dobových listů – Lidových novin, Venkova a Práva lidu/Národní práce uchopili v této přelomové době téma mládeže – společenské skupiny mnohdy radikální a nezřídka snadno ovlivnitelné. Zásadní pozornost věnuje práce analýze samotných novinových článků, ale nedílnou součástí jejího zájmu je i systém, který obklopoval práci tisku, jeho cenzuru a ovládání, organizaci mládeže a historické a kulturní vlivy dotýkající se mladé generace. Za tímto účelem využívá odborné sekundární literatury, dobových tiskovin a archivních materiálů.

Abstract:

This text deals with reflection of youth in the press of the Second Republic and in the newspapers published during the first eight month of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. It focuses on the way how journalists from three period papers – Lidové noviny, Venkov, Právo lidu/Národní práce handled the topic of the youth – often radical social group, which is sometimes easy to influence. Main attention of this text goes to the analysis of the actual articles published in the newspapers, but important part of its interest is also the system which used to surround the work of the press, its control and censorship. Furthermore, it describes organization of youth and historical and cultural events, which could influence young people. For this purpose it uses the secondary academic literature, the period newspapers and some archival documents.
