Life and its experiencing with alternating identities of an individual with Dissociative Identity Disorder

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce na téma Život a prožívání alterujících identit jedince s disociativní poruchou identity se věnuje tématu disociativní poruchy identity (DID) a svým obsahem navazuje na dříve realizovanou bakalářskou práci. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na pochopení pojmu disociace a jejích dopadů na jedince, který v dětství zažil závažné traumatizující zkušenosti. Práce cílí na popis dopadů traumat na strukturu lidské osobnosti v podobě odštěpení alterujících identit vedoucích ke vzniku disociativní poruchy identity. Práce se věnuje popisu možných identit, které vlivem traumatu vzniknou, a jejich životu uvnitř primární osobnosti i v rámci vnějšího světa. Empirická část pomocí Interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy (IPA) zkoumá život a prožívání alterujících identit jedince s disociativní poruchou identity. Rozhovory s respondentem trpícím touto poruchou jsou doplněny nejen o rozhovory s jeho partnerkou, ale i o rozhovory s některými z alterujících identit.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis named Life and its experiencing with alternating identities of an individual with dissociative identity is addressed to the topic of dissociative identity disorder (DID) and it follows on from the previous bachelor thesis by its content. The theoretical framework focuses on understanding the term of dissociation itself and its impact on an individual who had experienced serious trauma throughout childhood. The thesis aims at description the impacts of traumas on structure of human personality in the form of separation the alternating identities leading to origination of dissociative identity disorder. The thesis looks into describing the possible identities which are caused by trauma and their life inside the primary personality but also within the external world. The empirical framework, with using the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), explores life and its experiencing with alternating identities of an individual with dissociative identity disorder. The conversations with a respondent suffering from such a disorder are amended not only by a conversation with his partner but also by conversations with some of the alternating identities. Also, the empirical framework looks into the analysis of picturing a particular structure of respondent’s personality with DID.
