Credit cards on the internet

Abstract:

Díky rychlému rozvoji informačních technologií začali prodejci nabízet i nové možnosti platebních metod. Platební karty jsou dnes pro obyvatele západní Evropy, Ameriky nebo vyspělých asijských států již samozřejmostí. Tento trend se přenesl rovněž na internet. Bakalářská práce se zabývá platebními metodami, které mají dnes uživatelé internetu k dispozici. Cílem práce je analyzovat výhody a nevýhody jednotlivých platebních systémů dostupných v České republice nejen z perspektivy platících zákazníků, ale rovněž z pohledu samotných obchodníků, rozebrat rizika spojená s platbou přes internet a na základě statistických údajů popsat současný a odhadnout budoucí vývoj celého odvětví.

Abstract:

As a result of the fast development of information technologies, sellers began offering new ways of payment methods. In the Western Europe, North America or developed Asian countries credit and debit cards are deemed as a necessity among the vast majority of the population. This development has been reflected on the Internet as well. This dissertation focuses on payment methods that are nowadays available to the Internet users. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the advantages and disadvantages of the various payment systems available in the Czech Republic; not only from the customers' point of view, but also from the perspective of business owners. Furthermore, this paper evaluates the possible risks associated with payments over the Internet, describes recent developments and predicts the future trends in this field by using statistical data.
