The analysis of the musical composition in connection with its art model

Abstract:

Autor v práci zpracovává téma Suita Hieronymus Bosch v souvislosti s její výtvarnou předlohou, kterou je Triptych Zahrada pozemských rozkoší. V práci je také nastíněn praktický postup při přetváření určitého tématu z výtvarného zpracování do zpracování hudebního. Práce je dělena do dvou pomyslných celků. V rámci prvního celku se autor zabývá výhradně teoretickými informacemi, které jsou v druhém celku využity k praktické analýze. Cílem prvního celku je tedy uvedení do kontextu dané problematiky. Přítomnost historických a náboženských informací spjatých s Triptychem a jeho autorem je důležitá. Pozdější analýza má možnost na tyto informace navazovat a práce je v tomto směru komplexnější. Při znalosti kontextu díla dochází také k snazšímu chápání následné analýzy. Kromě informací obsažených v dostupné literatuře obsahuje práce také informace přímo od autora hudební skladby. Tímto se autor vyhýbá použití irelevantních či smyšlených faktů. Díky této skutečnosti také práce přináší přímý vhled do smýšlení hudebního skladatele při tvorbě skladby. Některé části hudební skladby svým tématem či hlavní myšlenkou korespondují se svou obrazovou předlohou. Těmto částem je věnovaná samostatná kapitola obsahující popis každé části a její původní výtvarné a hudební zpracování v podobě ukázky notového zápisu. Protože je v rámci této kapitoly důležité popisovaný problém zároveň vidět, autor vložil části Triptychu a ukázky notového zápisu přímo do textu. Tímto se autor vyhýbá problému s případným hledáním daných obrázků v přílohách.

Abstract:

In the thesis the author elaborates on the topic of Suita Hieronymus Bosch concerning a connection to its art model which is a Triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights. In the work there is also plotted a practical procedure of transformation of a certain fine art theme into a musical piece. The text is divided into two distinct parts. In the first part the author concerns exclusively the theoretical information, which is used for a practical analysis in the second. The goal of the first part is to present an introduction into the context of given issues. The presence of historical and theological information connected to the Triptych is of great importance. The later analysis may be grounded on this data and thus the work is more complex. Having the knowledge of the context also provides easier understanding of the following analysis. Apart from information present in the literature, the thesis contains data from the musical piece authors themselves. This way the author evades use of irrelevant or fabricated facts. Thanks to this appearance the text brings a direct view into the way the musical composer thinks while creating his piece. Some parts of the musical composition correspond with their theme or principal idea to their art model. An independent chapter is dedicated to these parts, and includes a description of each part and its original fine art and musical adaptation, the last contrived by a demonstration of its musical notation. For the importance of seeing the described problem, the author inserted parts of the Triptych and demonstrations of the musical notation right into the text itself. This way the author avoids inconveniences with potential searches for relevant pictures in appendixes.
