Analysis of the requirements to acquire and host European or World wrestling championships and possibilities to meet such requirements in Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce analyzuje podmínky pro zisk pořadatelství šampionátu v zápase. Cílem bylo zjistit, co všechno musí pořadatel splnit, aby naplnil pravidla mezinárodní federace zápasu. Rovněž bylo cílem zjistit, co je nutné pro pořadatelství jako takové. Práce také řešila možnosti Svazu zápasu ČR tyto podmínky naplnit a zda by mohl takovou akci pořádat. Bylo zjištěno, že v současné době Svaz zápasu ČR není schopen uspořádat šampionát v žádné věkové kategorii. Důvodem je finanční nestabilita svazu a neochota členů svazu podílet se na organizaci. V závěru práce byly navrženy kroky, které by měl v následujících letech SZČR učinit, aby šampionát mohl úspěšně uspořádat.

Abstract:

This thesis analyzed the requirements to acquire and host international wrestling championships. The objective was to identify all key prerequisites in order to meet United World Wrestling requirements and successfully organize wrestling championships. Additionally, the thesis assessed Czech Wrestling Federation´s ability to meet such requirements. The conclusion is the Czech Wrestling Federation is currently not able to organize any wrestling championships in any age category. The key reasons are current financial difficulties and lack of commitment across the Czech federation to support such an event. Lastly, the thesis proposes steps the Czech Wrestling Federation should take in order to be able to organize wrestling championships successfully in the future.
