Biophilia in interior design

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma Biofilní design v interiérové tvorbě si v teoretické části práce klade za cíl shromáždit dostupné informace a názory na téma biofilie, biofilní design, a definovat termínu biofilie v interiérové tvorbě. Cílem praktické části diplomové práce je v rámci vybraného modelového objektu ověřit principy biofilní tvorby na základě vlastního návrhu. Návrh řešení prostor hotelu v Ostrovačicích se nesnaží o aplikaci všech 14 principů biofilní tvorby, ale spíše o ukázání možnosti jiné tvorby. Autorka se vlastním návrhem snaží o vyvrácení mýtu, že biofilní tvorba je tvorbou využívající pouze rostliny. V autorském návrhu sice pracuje s rostlinami a materiálem rostlinného původu (stabilizovaný mech, březové obložení, aj.), ale využívá i další prvky, jako např. difuzní světlo v podobě závěsných pěstebních lamp nebo použitím lanového paravanu, dále potom prvky vody (vodní stěny s LED podsvícením), objekty biomorfních tvarů (křesla na recepci), prvky navozující tajemství a klamné vizuální spojení s přírodou (stropní tapety v restauraci) nebo prvky navozující mírně riskantní pocit (houpačky v restauraci nebo závěsná “hnízda” ve foyer). Je zřejmé, že je nevyhnutelně nutné se tématem více zabývat, jelikož podle výzkumu NHAPS (The National Human Activity Pattern Survey) již nyní trávíme 90% veškerého času v interiéru a je předpokladem, že během několika desetiletí bude do měst migrovat 70% veškeré světové populace. Je tedy více než vhodné vytvářet jak města, tak dílčí interiéry dobře obyvatelnými prostory, bez negativního působení na zdraví člověka. I přes to, že se změna přístupu k tvorbě pravděpodobně projeví na jiném vzhledu prostor, než na které jsme zvyklí, měli bychom tyto kroky podstoupit a neměli bychom potřebovat žádné další studie, které by poukazovaly na to, že náš vrozený vztah a příbuznost s přírodou je zásadní pro naše zdraví a pohodu.

Abstract:

The thesis on the topic Biofilia in interior design is aimed at collecting available information and opinions on biofilia, biofilm design and defining the term biofilia in interior design.The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to verify the principles of biofilm based on its own design within the selected model object.The design of a hotel room in Ostrovačice does not attempt to apply all 14 principles of biofilm production, but rather to show the possibility of other creation. The author, with his own proposal, tries to rebut the myth that biofilm is a plant-only creation. In the author's proposal, it works with plants and material of plant origin (stabilized moss, birch lining, etc.) but also uses other elements such as diffuse light in the form of hanging growing lamps or using a rope screen, water elements (water walls with LED backlighting), objects of biomorphic shapes (armchairs at the reception), mysterious elements and a false visual connection with nature (ceiling wallpaper in a restaurant) or elements that create a slightly risky sensation (restaurant swings or hanging "nest" in the foyer).Obviously, it is inevitable that the issue is more relevant as, according to the National Human Activity Pattern Survey (NHAPS), we now spend 90% of all time indoors, and it is a prerequisite that within a few decades 70% of the world's population will migrate to cities . Therefore, it is more than appropriate to create both cities and sub-interiors with well-habitable spaces without any negative effects on human health. Despite the fact that the change in approach to creation is likely to be reflected in a different appearance than we are accustomed to, we should take these steps and we should not need any further studies pointing out that our innate relationship and relationship to nature is essential for our health and well-being.
