Letní Shakespearovské slavnosti - Analysis of production and programm practices

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje nejstaršímu a největšímu festivalu zaměřenému na tvorbu Williama Shakespeara, Letní Shakespearovské slavnosti. Detailněji se zaměřuji na rozbor ostravské části tohoto festivalu. Zpočátku se věnuji historií festivalu v české republice a samostatně i v Ostravě. Dozvíme se zde také, zda jsou festivaly s prioritním spisovatelem Williama Shakespeara výjimkou, a nebo fungují i jinde ve světě. Následně rozebírám produkci festivalu, kde se věnuji propojení pražské centrály s ostravskou pobočkou. Zaměřuji se zde na specifika této frančízy, část je také věnována marketingu, který je festivalovou velikou součástí a organizační struktuře festivalu. Není zde opomenut ani samotný rozpočet. V práci se postupně dostáváme do další kapitoly dramaturgie. Zde je ukázáno dramaturgické fungování při výběr her, fungování samotného festivalu v procesu. V závěru práce se věnuji názorům diváků Letních Shakespearovských slavností v Ostravě a vše vyhodnocuji SWOT analýzou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the oldest and the largest festival dedicated to the production of William Shakespeare, Summer Shakespeare Festival. In detail I focus on the analysis of the Ostrava part of this festival. The beginning is dedicated to the history of the festival in the Czech Republic and independently in Ostrava. We will also learn if festivals with William Shakespeare as the priority writer are an exception or appear elsewhere in the world. Then I look into the production of the festival where I analyze the linking of the Prague headquarters with the Ostrava branch. I focus on the specifics of this franchise and one part is also dedicated to marketing, which is a great part of the festival and of the organizational structure of the festival. The budget itself is not omitted. We are gradually getting to the next chapter of dramaturgy. Here, the dramaturgic functioning of the selection of games and the functioning of the festival itself in the proces is shown. At the end of my thesis I attend to the views of the spectators of the Summer Shakespeare Festival in Ostrava and I evaluate them by SWOT analysis.
