Symmetric Differentiation

Abstract:

V diferenciálním počtu definujeme klasickou derivaci funkce f v bodě x jako limitu. V této práci však limitu klasické derivace zobecníme pomocí jiné limity, tzv. symetrické derivace. Následně zkoumáme vlastnosti symetrické derivace a tyto vlastnosti porovnáváme s vlastnostmi klasické derivace. Řešíme například, jestli z existence derivace funkce f v bodě x plyne existence symetrické derivace v bodě x. Ve třetí kapitole odvozujeme věty o střední hodnotě pro symetrickou derivaci a využíváme jich k nalezení lokálních extrémů funkce. Dále se zabýváme druhou symetrickou derivací a jejími vlastnostmi, především zkoumáme vliv druhé symetrické derivace na konvexnost funkce. Na závěr uvádíme přehled několika dalších zobecnění derivace.

Abstract:

In differential calculus we define ordinary derivative of function f at point x as a limit. In this thesis we are replacing this limit with another limit, i.e. symmetric derivative. Then we are studying properties of symmetric derivative and comparing them with properties of ordinary derivative. For example we are solving whether existence of ordinary derivative at a point x implies existence of symmetric derivative at a point x. In third chapter we are deducing version of Mean value theorem of ordinary derivative which apply for symmetric derivative and we will using it for finding local extrema of a function. Later we are analyzing second symmetric derivative and its properties. Primarily its connections to the convexity of function f. In the end we are providing examples of another generalizations of derivative.
