The Interpretation of the Relationship between the Philosophy of Heraclitus and the Philosophy of the Eleatics in the Secondary Literature

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Interpretace vztahu myšlení Hérakleitova a myšlení elejských v textech vybraných českých autorů“ pojednává o srovnání myšlenek Hérakleita z Efesu, Parmenida a Zénóna z Eleje a jejich interpretaci v dílech vybraných českých autorů. Cílem práce je porovnat jednotlivá stanoviska některých autorů na vybraná témata týkající se filozofie Hérakleitovy, Parmenidovy a Zénónovy, jejich způsob řazení informací v publikacích, pozornost věnovanou jednotlivým tématům a shody a rozdíly v interpretaci myšlenek těchto filozofů. Dále je v práci rozebírán problém týkající se pojetí Hérakleitova logu a jeho srovnání s pojetím Parmenidovým a výskyt této problematiky v publikacích vybraných českých historiků filozofie. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních tematických celků, přičemž první z nich pojednává o filozofii Hérakleita z Efesu, Parmenida z Eleje a Zénóna z Eleje a druhá část se soustředí především na srovnání interpretací vztahu myšlení těchto tří filozofů v publikacích některých českých autorů.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis “Interpretation of the Relation in Thinking of Heraclitus and Thinking of the Eleats in Texts by the Chosen Czech Authors” deals with comparison of the thinking of Heraclitus of Ephesus, Parmenides and Zeno of Elea and their interpretation in works by chosen Czech authors. The aim of the work is to compare the individual attitudes of some authors on the chosen topics concerning the philosophy of Heraclitus, Parmenides and Zeno, their way of ordination of the information in publications, the attention paid to the individual topics and agreements and differences in the interpretations of ideas of these philosophers. Next thing I’m analyzing in this work is the problem concerning the notion of Heraclitus’ logos and its comparison with the notion of Parmenides and occurrence of this problem in publications by the chosen Czech philosophy historians. The work is divided into two main thematic units; while the first one deals with the philosophy of Heraclitus of Ephesus, Parmenides of Elea and Zeno of Elea, the second part is focused mainly on the comparison of the interpretations of the relation in thinking of these three philosophers in publications by some Czech authors.
