Diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním české a polské knižní verze Harry Potter a Kámen mudrců. Teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře se základními pojmy tlumočení a překladu, jejich odborné definice, dále práci překladatele a problémy, se kterými se při překládaní setkává a v neposlední řadě zmiňuje ty nejvýznamější polské a české překladatele, které by mněl každý znát. This master thesis deals with the comparison of the Czech and Polish book versions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
