Influence of printing speed and UV dose on curing of UV inks and varnishes

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na studium vlivu rychlosti tisku na stupeň vytvrzení ofsetových, UY zářením tvrditelných barev od několika výrobců a UVlaku. Teoretická část se zabývá problematikou UV zářením tvrditelných barev a laků, zdroje UV záření, infračervenou spektroskopií a migrací látek z vytvrzených barvových a lakových vrstev.Experimentální část práce je zaměřena na vyhodnocení a porovnání stupně konverze UV zářením tvrditelných barev a laku tištěných při různých podmínkách tisku. Vzorky pro hodnocení stupně konverze byly vytisknuty na tiskovém stroji KBA Rapida 142 6+L na jednostranně natíranou lepenkou(Serviliner GD2). Tisk byl realizován při různých rychlostech tisku a nastavení výkonu zdroje UV zážení. U všech testovaných barev byl stupeň konverze hodnocen u azurové,pirpurové, žluté a černé barvy. Stupeň koneverze barev a laku byl hodnocen pomocí infračervených spekter, kde byla vyhodnocena změna plochy absorpčního pásu odpovídajícího vibraci akrylové dvojné vazby(809 cm-1). Absorpční spektra testovaných UV barev a laku byla měřena pomocí FTIR spektrometru Avatar 320 FT-IR metodou ATR s použitím diamantového krystalu. Plochy absorpčního pásu byly vyhodnoceny v programu Omnic.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the study of the influence of printing speed on the degree of curing of the offset inks curable by the UV ratdiation from various suppliers and UV varnish. Theoretical part deals with the UV radiation curable inks and varnishes, UV radiation sources, infrared spectroscopy and the substance migration from the cured inks and varnishes. experimental partis focused on the evalition and comparison of the degree of conversion of the UV radiotion curable inks and varnish during the various different printing conditions. The samples needed for the evaluation of the degree of conversion were printed on the KBA Rapida 142 6+L on the onesided cardboard (Serviliner GD2). The process was performed during both defferent printingspeed and also different UV radiation output. The degree of conversion was carrieed out with all testing sets for cyan, magenta, yellow and Blac ink. The degree of conversion of the inks and varnish was evaluated with the infrared spectra where the change of the absortion band corresponding to vibrationof acrylate double bond(809 cm-1) was evaluated. Infrared spectra of UV inks and varnish was measure by FTIR spectrometer Avatar 320 FT-IR with ATR technique (diamond crystal). Tehe absorption band areas were evaluated in the Omnic program.
