The Japanese Ethics and its Influence on Hospitality and Tourism

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Japonská etika a její vliv na hotelnictví a cestovní ruch“ se zabývá tématem japonské kultury. Cílem práce je identifikovat základní prvky japonské etiky a etikety a zhodnotit jejich vliv na hotelnictví a cestovní ruch v České republice. Na základě definovaného cíle byly stanoveny dvě hypotézy. Jedna hypotéza předpokládá, že počet japonských turistů přijíždějících do České republiky je možné zvýšit zavedením přímé letecké linky Praha – Tokio. Počet japonských turistů navštěvujících Českou republiku v čase dlouhodobě klesá. Druhá z hypotéz je zaměřena na české poskytovatele služeb v cestovním ruchu a hotelnictví a na jejich schopnost přizpůsobit se specifickým požadavkům japonských turistů. V teoretické části jsou definovány pojmy kultura se zdůrazněním kulturně-hodnotového paradigmatu, interkulturalita, etika a etický kodex a synteticky jsou popsány historické kořeny a principy japonské kultury v návaznosti na pět náboženských kultur, kterými jsou šintoismus, buddhismus, konfucianismus, taoismus a křesťanství. Analytická část je rozdělena do dvou celků. První z nich se zabývá ekonomickým významem cestovního ruchu při hodnocení bilaterálních vztahů mezi Japonskem a Českou republikou s přihlédnutím k indexu konkurenceschopnosti cestovního ruchu a bonity japonské klientely, která je pro český cestovní ruch klíčovým zdrojovým trhem. Druhý z nich se prostřednictvím provedených hloubkových rozhovorů soustředí na vliv japonské etiky na hotelnictví a cestovní ruch v České republice. V návrhové části je zpracován návrh na zavedení přímé letecké linky Praha – Tokio.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis “The Japanese Ethics and its Influence on Hospitality and Tourism” deals with the theme of Japanese culture. The objective of this work is to identify the basic elements of Japanese ethics and etiquette and to assess their influence on hospitality and tourism in the Czech Republic. On the basis of the defined objective have been determined two hypotheses. One hypothesis assumes that it is possible to increase the number of Japanese tourists coming to the Czech Republic by the introduction of direct air line Prague – Tokyo. At the time the number of Japanese tourists visiting the Czech Republic is long-term declined. The second of the hypotheses is focused on the Czech provider of services in tourism and hospitality and on their ability to adapt to the specific requirements of Japanese tourists. In the theoretical part are defined the concepts of culture, highlighting the cultural value paradigm, interculturality, ethics and the code of ethics and synthetically described the historical roots and principles of Japanese culture in the wake of the five religious cultures, which are Shinto, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism and Christianity. The analytical part is divided into two units. The first of them deals with the economic importance of tourism in the assessment of bilateral relations between Japan and the Czech Republic with regard to the index of tourism competitiveness and creditworthiness of Japanese clientele, which is the key source market for the Czech tourism. The second of them focuses on the influence of Japanese ethics on hospitality and tourism in the Czech Republic through the conducted in-depth interviews. At the conclusion of the work is compiled a proposal for the introduction of the direct air line Prague – Tokyo.
