Psychological Stress and Mental Hygiene in the Work Place - the Role of Management

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou psychické zátěže a stresových faktorů působících na pojišťovací poradce a jejich manažery a popisuje, jak stresu odolávat. Ve své práci vycházím ze svých vlastních zkušeností s řízením obchodní služby. Pojišťovací poradci musí odolávat stresu při řešení obchodních případů, jednání s klienty, řešení škodních událostí, plnění svých obchodních plánů a podobně. Manažeři musí odolávat stresu při řízení obchodní služby, plnění obchodních cílů, řešení stížností klientů a musí obchodní týmy zbavovat jejich vlastního stresu. Teoretická část práce vychází z terminologie stresu, stresových faktorů a psychické zátěže, se kterou si museli poradit i naši předkové v minulosti. Praktická část je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část se zabývá stresem pojišťovacích poradců při výkonu jejich činnosti. Druhá část se zaměřuje na úlohu manažera v oblasti pojišťovnictví a stres spojený s psychickou zátěží při výkonu své profese. Cílem práce je objasnit, zda stresové faktory, se kterými se obě strany setkávají téměř každý den, dokážou ovlivnit jejich pracovní i osobní život. Na závěr je zmíněno pár cenných rad, které jsou čerpány z dlouholeté praxe manažera.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of psychological drain and stress factors affecting insurance advisors and their managers and it generally describes how to effectively cope with stress. My thesis is based on my own experience with managing a business service. Insurance advisors have to withstand stress when dealing with business issues, talking to clients, dealing with reported claims, following business plans and during other situations. Managers face stress when controlling business services and hen dealing with clients’s complaints and they have to help their teams getting rid of their own stress, too. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is based on the terminology of stress, stress factors and psychological drain, which our ancestors had to undergo, too. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the stress which insurance advisors have to face while performing their profession. The second part focuses on the role of a manager in insurance business and on the stress accompanied with psychological drain while accomplishing the tasks of this profession. The aim of this thesis is to clarify whether these stress factors, which both insurance advisors and managers daily have to face, can affect their professional and personal life. Several valuable advice from my longtime experience as a manager is mentioned at the conclusion of this bachelor thesis.
