Parents' point of view on their teenage childrens' activities on social networks

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Pohled rodičů na aktivity jejich nezletilých dětí na sociálních sítích“ se zabývá náhledem do života rodičů, kteří musí v dynamické společnosti čelit novým výzvám v podobě využívání sociálních sítí jejich nezletilými dětmi. Akcent je kladen na zapojení rodičů, jejich zájem o osvětu, vzdělávání a zajištění bezpečnosti jejich dětí společně s uvědoměním, jaké přínosy a negativa s sebou pohyb v kyberprostoru přináší. Práce se dotýká povědomí rodičů, kteří jsou sami aktivní v online světě, a zaměřuje se zejména na jejich komunikaci s dětmi v rámci této problematiky, přenos informací mezi generacemi a vzájemné obohacování. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, jak se rodiče staví k využívání sociálních sítí jejich dětmi, prozkoumat informovanost rodičů o možných rizikách a nahlédnout na jejich míru zapojení se do prevence či řešení v podobě zájmu o vzdělávání se v této oblasti a komunikaci s dětmi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with an insight into the lives of parents who have to deal with new challenges in a dynamic society in the form of the use of social networks by their teenage children. Emphasis is placed on the involvement of parents, their interest in enlightenment, education and ensuring the safety of their children, along with an awareness of the benefits and negatives of moving in cyberspace. The diploma thesis touches on the knowledge of parents who are themselves active in the online world, and focuses mainly on their communication with children in this area, the transfer of information between generations and mutual enrichment. The main goal of the thesis is to find out how parents approach the use of social networks by their children, to examine parents' awareness of possible risks and to look at their level of involvement in prevention or solutions in the form of interest in learning in this area and communicating with children.
