Social Work in Context of Hospice Care

Abstract:

The Diploma thesis is divided into four chapters.The first free chatpeters deal with the theoretical section of the Diploma thesis and the last chatper is focused on an empirical research. The aim of my diploma thesis is to analyze what the status of volunteers in St.Elizabeth Hospice is what their motivation is and what the benefits of being employing the volunteer staff are. In the first three chapters are all information about the social work in Hospice care based on the theoratical knowledge provided.These are focused on two main subjects – accompaniment and volunteering. Is trying to define the problems of palliative and hospice care, involvement of volunteers in this area and the care about the patiens dying in hospices. Euthanasia is mentioned in diploma thesis as well. The practical part of my diploma thesis is focused on getting information through the analyze of interviews and observations , the importance of volunteers and their motiavation. All respondents were volunteers working – volunteering - in St. Elizabeth Hospice.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca je rozdelená do 4 kapitol, z toho prvé tri sú teoretické a štvrtá obsahuje empirický výskum. Cieľom diplomovej práce je analýzy postavenia dobrovoľníkov v problematike hospicovej práce a zistenie ich motivácie, ich prínos vo zvolenom hospicovom zariadení a to v Hospici sv. Alžbety v Brne. V prvých troch kapitolách na základe teoretických poznatkov sú poskytnuté prehľadné informácie o sociálnej práci v hospicovej starostlivosti so zameraním na jej dve formy, sprevádzanie a dobrovoľníctvo. Snaží sa priblížiť problematiku paliatívnej a hospicovej starostlivosti, využitie dobrovoľníkov v týchto sférach, starostlivosť o umierajúcich a vývoj hospicov. Taktiež je v práci načrtnutá otázka eutanázie. Pratická časť diplomovej práce je zameraná na získavanie informácií prostredníctvom analýzy rozhovorov a pozorovania, o dôležitosti úlohy dobrovoľníkov a ich motivácii pre danú činnosť. Respondentmi boli dobrovoľníci vykonávajúci dobrvoľnícku službu v Hospici sv. Alžbety.
