Autonomous cars. Retrospect, the current situation, the ethical aspects of autonomous vehicles

Abstract:

Cílem práce je popsat fenomén autonomních automobilů a to od prvotní myšlenky samonaváděcích strojů, až po současné technické realizace, se kterými se za krátký čas budeme setkávat na našich silnicích. Práce důkladně zkoumá a popisuje automobily společností Google a Tesla Motors, jejichž výzkum a vývoj je pro tento obor stěžejní. Dále se práce zabývá současnou diskuzí týkající se etických aspektů, které je potřeba vyřešit před uvedením autonomních automobilů na veřejné komunikace.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to describe the phenomenon of autonomous vehicles from the original idea of self-homing machines to current technical realization which we will meet on the road in short time. The work closely examines and describe vehicles by Google and Tesla Motors, because their research and development are crucial for this subject. Furthermore, the work deals with the current debate about the ethical aspect which must be resolve before the autonomous cars will be on public roads.
