The Early New High German Texts on Plague Held in Bohemian and Moravian Archives and Libraries. A Content and Language Analysis

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is the introduction of very little known early new high german handwritten texts on plague, which are held in the Czech and Moravian archives and libraries. The presented work concentrates on their detailed content and language analysis which is focused mainly on sentence structure. The information contained in the manuscripts is presented with respect to individual structural elements which can be identified in most of the analysed texts. Attention is also paid to recipes against the plague. The dependence of sentence structure on the topic, proportion of subordinate clauses and their types are presented on selected thematic parts of structural elements.

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zpřístupnění dosud velmi málo známých raně novohornoněmeckých rukopisných textů s tématikou moru, které jsou uloženy v českých a moravských archivech a knihovnách. Předložená práce přináší jejich podrobnou obsahovou analýzu a jazykový rozbor zaměřený zejména na oblast větné stavby. Informace obsažené v rukopisech jsou představeny z hlediska jednotlivých strukturních elementů, které lze identifikovat ve většině analyzovaných textů. Pozornost je věnována také receptům proti moru. Na vybraných tematických částech strukturních elementů je prezentováno, jak na daném tématu závisí větná struktura, podíl vedlejších vět a jejich druhy.
