Microsample preparation for SALD ICP mass spectrometry

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na přípravu mikrovzorků zlata pro analýzu technikou laserové desorpce za účasti substrátu ve spojení s hmotnostní spektrometrií s indukčně vázaným plazmatem (SALD ICP MS). Zabývá se využitím mikropipety a piezoelektrického pipetoru pro nanášení mikrovzorků na polyethylentereftalát glykolovou destičku, charakterizací piezoelektrického pipetoru a určením objemu jedné kapky. Dále je v práci stanoven limit detekce SALD ICP MS a odhadnuta minimální velikost nanočástice, kterou je možné touto technikou detekovat. Na závěr je provedena analýza zlatých nanočástic.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on preparation of gold microsamples for Substrate-Assisted Laser Desorption Inductively-Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (SALD ICP MS) analysis. It describes the usage of a micropipette and a piezoelectric dispenser for deposition of microsamples onto a polyethylene terephthalate glycol plate, characterization of the piezoelectric dispenser and estimation of the droplet volume. The limit of detection of SALD ICP MS was determined and the minimum size of nanoparticle that can be detected using this technique was estimated. Finally, the initial analysis of gold nanoparticles was performed.
