Transmission mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in gram-positive cocci isolated from poultry

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o antibiotické rezistenci bakterií izolovaných z drůbežího masa. Nejprve je popsána historie antibiotik, jejich dělení a mechanismy účinku jednotlivých antibiotik. Dále se práce zabývá antibiotickou rezistencí, možnosti jejího vzniku a mechanismy šíření rezistentních bakterií v procesu od "od farmy po vidličku" se zaměřením na drůbežářský průmysl. Rovněž jsou v práci zmíněny konkrétní studie zabývající se izolací grampozitivních koků z kuřecího masa a metody průkazu antibiotické rezistence

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the antibiotic resistance of bacteria isolated from poultry meat. First, the history of antibiotics, their division and the mechanisms of action of individual antibiotics are described. Furthermore, the thesis deals with antibiotic resistance, the possibilities of its occurrence and the mechanisms of the spread of resistant bacteria in the process from "farm to fork" with a focus on the poultry industry. The thesis also mentions specific studies dealing with the isolation of gram-positive cocci from chicken meat and methods of demonstrating antibiotic resistance.
