Raspberri Pi home security system

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je návrh a vytvoření domácího zabezpečovacího systému založeného na Raspberry Pi. Hlavním cílem je vytvořit efektivní, cenově dostupné a snadno implementovatelné řešení pro detekci pohybu, zejména ve vstupních prostorech mého bytu. Systém by měl být schopen poskytnout uživateli upozornění v případě detekce pohybu prostřednictvím e-mailu a SMS zprávy, spolu s fotografickým a video záznamem z daného prostoru. Důležitým aspektem je také schopnost systému fungovat za různých světelných podmínek a zároveň poskytovat dostatečně kvalitní záběr pro rozpoznání obličeje případného vetřelce. V teoretické části práce jsou představeny základy Raspberry Pi, jeho historie a vývoj. Práce také analyzuje různé pohybové senzory, kamery a další komponenty, které lze použít pro vytvoření zabezpečovacího systému. V praktické části je popsán návrh a implementace zabezpečovacího systému, který zahrnuje integraci pohybových senzorů, kamery a dalších komponent s Raspberry Pi a Pythonem. Testování systému zahrnuje ověření jeho funkčnosti, efektivity a schopnosti pracovat za různých světelných podmínek. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky získané během práce a implementace zabezpečovacího systému založeného na Raspberry Pi. Diskutovány jsou také možnosti dalšího vylepšení systému a alternativní řešení. Tato práce přispívá k lepšímu pochopení možností Raspberry Pi v oblasti domácích zabezpečovacích systémů a poskytuje ucelený přehled o dostupných technologiích a komponentech, které lze použít pro vytvoření takového systému.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to design and build a home security system based on Raspberry Pi. The main goal is to create an effective, affordable, and easy to implement solution for motion detection, especially in the entrance areas of my apartment. The system should be able to provide alerts to the user in case of motion detection via email and SMS, along with photo and video footage of the area. Another important aspect is the ability of the system to operate in different lighting conditions, while providing a sufficiently high-quality image to recognise the face of a possible intruder. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the basics of Raspberry Pi, its history, and development are introduced. The study also explores various motion sensors, cameras, and other components that can be used to create a security system. In the practical part, the design and implementation of the security system are described, which includes the integration of motion sensors, camera, and other components with Raspberry Pi and Python. System testing involves verifying its functionality, effectiveness, and ability to work under different lighting conditions. Finally in conclusion the main findings and insights gained during the work and implementation of the Raspberry Pi-based security system are summarized. Possibilities for further improvement of the system and alternative solutions are also discussed. This thesis contributes to a better understanding of Raspberry Pi's potential in the field of home security systems and provides a comprehensive overview of available technologies and components that can be used to create such a system.
