Cílem práce je shrnout dostupné informace o problematice Usutu viru, arboviru přenášeného komáry, náležícího do čeledi Flaviviridae. Byl objeven v roce 1959 v jižní Africe. Po jeho introdukci do Evropy způsobil rozsáhlé epidemie postihující především ptáky. V posledních letech bylo popsáno několik infekcí člověka způsobených tímto virem. Abstract:
The aim of this Thesis is to summarize available information regarding the issue of the Usutu virus, which is an arbovirus that belongs to family Flaviviridae and is transmitted by mosquitos. It was discovered in 1959 in south Africa. After its introduction into Europe it has caused massive epidemics affecting mainly birds.
