The Use of Poetic Texts for the Development of Communicative Competence in Russian Language Teaching in Secondary Schools in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

The doctoral thesis deals with the issue of using poetic texts, including songs, in Russian language teaching with the aim of developing communicative competence of learners in Czech secondary schools. The research is multiple case study, where each of six cases consist of Russian language teachers and their classes. Data collection methods include group and individual semi-structured interviews, and non-participant standardized observation of lessons where poetic texts were used. The data analysis is based on grounded theory methods. The results indicate that poetic texts as a didactic tool can contribute to the development of communicative competence, positively influence learners' perception of the Russian language and their study of it. The use of poetic texts also helps create interdisciplinary connections. Based on the research results, didactic recommendations for Russian language teachers in secondary schools were developed.

Abstract:

Disertační výzkum se zabývá problematikou využití básnických textů, včetně písní, v hodinách ruského jazyka s cílem rozvíjení komunikační kompetence u žáků českých středních škol. Disertační výzkum představuje vícepřípadovou studii, jejíž jednotlivé případy tvoří šest učitelů ruštiny a jejich třídy. Pro sběr dat jsou použity skupinové a individuální polostrukturované rozhovory a nezúčastněné standardizované pozorovaní hodin, během kterých byly použité básnické texty. Analýza dat je založena na metodách, které vycházejí ze zakotvené teorie. Výsledky ukazují, že básnické texty jakožto didaktický prostředek mohou přispívat k rozvoji komunikační kompetence, pozitivně ovlivňovat vnímání ruského jazyka a studia ruštiny žáky. Použití básnických textů napomáhá také vytvářet mezipředmětové vazby. Na zaklade výsledků výzkumu byla vypracována didaktická doporučení pro učitele ruského jazyka na středních školách.
