Nursing care for the oral cavity in patients with invasive airway management in the intensive care unit and in the anesthesiology resuscitation department

Anotace:

Diplomová práce se zabývá ošetřovatelskou péčí o dutinu ústní u pacientů s invazivním zajištěním dýchacích cest na odděleních intenzivní péče. Hlavními cíli bylo zjistit, jaké profesní nebo situační faktory mohou mít vliv na tuto činnost. Teoretická část představuje náhled do dané problematiky. Popisuje orální mikrobiom, dysbiózu orální mikroflóry, interakce orálního zdraví a respiračního systému, speciální ošetřovatelskou péči o dutiny ústní u pacientů na odděleních intenzivní péče, kompetence a možné vzniklé komplikace v dutině ústní. V empirické části jsou pomocí deskriptivní a statistické analýzy dat interpretovány výsledky ze záznamových archů vlastní konstrukce získané skrytým a částečně skrytým pozorováním. V diskuzi jsou získané výsledky porovnány s jinými výzkumy. Závěrem práce je doporučení pro klinickou praxi.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the nursing care of the oral cavity in patients with invasive airway management in intensive care units. The main objectives were to identify what occupational or situational factors may influence this activity. The theoretical part presents an insight into the subject. It describes the oral microbiome, the dysbiosis of the oral microbiota, the interaction of oral health and the respiratory system, special nursing care of the oral cavity in patients in intensive care units, competence and possible complications arising in the oral cavity. In the empirical part, the results from record sheets of our own construction obtained by covert and semicovert observation are interpreted using descriptive and statistical data analysis. In the discussion, the results obtained are compared with other studies. The paper concludes with recommendations for client practice.
