Informatics education in secondary schools in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je výuka informatiky na středních školách v České republice. Cílem je zjištění úrovně výuky informatiky na konkrétní střední odborné škole a spokojenosti studentů i učitelů s obsahem a formou vyučování. Dále zhodnocení, zda při kvalitně prováděné výuce, využívání moderních a kvalitních učebnic, materiálů a programů jsou studenti dostatečně připraveni na jejich budoucí zaměstnání či případně další studium v tomto oboru. V teoretické části se autor zaobírá problematikou výuky informatiky. Pro účely empirického výzkumu je zvolena metoda dotazníkového šetření a znalostního testu, který měl za cíl ověřit vědomosti studentů v oblasti informatiky. Poslední použitou metodou jsou řízené rozhovory s učiteli konkrétní školy. Z empirického výzkumu vyplývá, že kvalita výuky informatiky na zkoumané škole dosahuje podle studentů pouze průměrné úrovně a že studenti nemají úplně dokonalé informatické znalosti, které se mohou dnes vyžadovat od absolventů středních škol při nástupu do zaměstnání. Na základě výsledků výzkumu byla vytvořena doporučení pro danou střední školu.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the teaching of informatics in secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The aim is to find out the level of teaching of computer science at a particular secondary vocational school and the satisfaction of students and teachers with the content and form of teaching. Furthermore, the evaluation of whether the quality of the teaching, the use of modern and high-quality textbooks, materials and programs are sufficiently prepared students for their future employment or further studies in this field. In the theoretical part the author deals with the problems of teaching computer science. For empirical research, the method of questionnaire survey and knowledge test is chosen to test the knowledge of students in the field of computer science. The last method used is guided interviews with teachers at a particular school. The empirical research shows that the quality of computer science teaching at the school under study is only of average level according to the students and that the students do not have quite the perfect computer science knowledge that may be required of high school graduates today when they enter the workforce. Based on the results of the research, recommendations were made for the high school in question.
