Interaction studies of telomeric proteins using quantitative approaches
Abstract:
Telomeres are nucleoprotein structures at the ends of linear eukaryotic chromosomes. In mammals they are created by tandem repeats with 5´ – TTAGGG – 3´ sequence. Telomere protection is ensured by a protein complex called shelterin which consists of six proteins and protects the telomeres against DNA degradation, recombination or fusion between chromosomal ends. Telomery jsou nukleoproteinové struktury na koncích lineárních eukaryotických chromosomů. U savců jsou tvořeny tandemovými repeticemi o sekvenci 5´ – TTAGGG – 3´. Ochrana telomer je zajištěna proteinovým komplexem shelterinem, který se skládá ze šesti proteinů a chrání telomery před degradací DNA, rekombinací a fúzí chromosomalních konců.
