The evolution of idea, means and goals of Czechoslovak scouting until 1970

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá proměnami ve skautské vizi, cílech a prostředcích od vzniku skautingu do doby jeho třetího zákazu v roce 1970. Zaměřuje se zejména na komparaci pojetí těchto tří aspektů v minulosti, na základě praxe (zachycené v kronikách) a příruček. Výzkum je veden komparativní metodou a metodou obsahové analýzy. Cílem práce není popsat vývoj jednoho skautského střediska, jehož kronik bylo při výzkumu využito, spíše hledat takové případy z minulosti, v nichž kronikový zápis dokazuje či vyvrací postoj té které dobové příručky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the transformations of the idea, goals and means of the scout movement since its beginnings until its third prohibition of activities in 1970. It focuses, first and foremost, on the comparation of these three aspects in the past, based on practice (described in the chronicles) and manuals. The research uses comparative method and the method of content analysis. The goal of this thesis isn’t to describe the evoutionof a singular scout troop, whose chronicles were used for the research, but to observe those past cases in whitch the chronicles prove or disprove the oppinions presented by manuals.
