The language of German Vlogs

Abstract:

This thesis deals with German vlogs and their language. Its intention is to bring this specific form of computer-mediated communication closer and to point out its linguistic peculiarities. The core of the work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part is devoted to familiarization with concepts such as interaction, vlog and spoken language and represents the theoretical basis for the actual analysis in the practical part. The following practical part contains the introduction of the analysed material, the analysis of the conversational character of the vlog, as well as the analyses of selected lexical features of the spoken language. Step by step, the representation of colloquial speech, anglicisms, deictic expressions and particles in vlogs are examined. The results of individual analyses are presented each time by a separate evaluation following the given chapter. The conclusion of the thesis presents a brief summary of the research results as well as suggestions for possible further investigation of this communication unit, not only in the framework of linguistics.

Abstract:

Predmetom tejto diplomovej práce sú nemecké vlogy a ich jazyk. Jej zámerom je priblížiť túto osobitú formu počítačom sprostredkovanej komunikácie a poukázať na jej jazykové špecifiká. Jadro práce je rozdelené na dve časti. Prvá, teoretická časť je venovaná oboznámeniu s pojmami ako sú interakcia, vlog či hovorený jazyk a predstavuje zároveň teoretický podklad pre vlastnú analýzu v praktickej časti. Nasledujúca praktická časť zahŕňa predstavenie vybraných vlogov, analýzu konverzačného charakteru vlogu ako aj jednotlivé analýzy vybraných lexikálnych znakov hovoreného jazyka. Postupne je vo vlogoch skúmané zastúpenie hovorovej reči, anglicizmov, deiktických výrazov a častíc. Výsledky jednotlivých analýz prezentuje zakaždým samostatné zhodnotenie nasledujúce po danej kapitole. Záver práce predstavuje stručné zhrnutie výsledkov výskumu ako aj návrhy možného ďalšieho skúmania tohto komunikačného útvaru, nielen v rámci lingvistiky.
