Events in the Third Reich during 1930s Connected with the Rise of Nazism in Czechoslovak Period Press

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou říšských událostí třicátých let spojených s nacismem v dobovém tisku Československa. Zkoumanými událostmi jsou prezidentské volby 1932 i volby říšské, jmenování Adolfa Hitlera kancléřem, norimberské zákony, anšlus Rakouska, mnichovská dohoda a tzv. křišťálová noc. K bádání bylo využito židovských i nežidovských periodik. Pro výzkum byla využita obsahová analýza, jak kvantitativní, tak kvalitativní, proto byl v tisku zkoumán počet příspěvků souvisejících s událostmi, zobrazení židovské problematiky a další témata skloňovaná s událostmi.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of the events in the Third Reich during the 1930s associated with Nazism in the periodical press of Czechoslovakia. The events examined are the presidential elections in 1932, the appointment of Adolf Hitler as Chancellor, the Nuremberg Laws, the Anschluss of Austria, the Munich Agreement, and the so-called Crystal Night. Jewish and non-Jewish periodicals were used for the research. Content analysis, both quantitative and qualitative, was used for the research, and therefore, a number of articles related to the events, depictions of Jewish issues and other topics related to the events were examined in the press.
