Gender in Kindergarten

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Gender v MŠ. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí – teoretické a praktické. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, zda a jak se projevuje rozdílný genderový přístup učitelů k dětem (chlapcům a dívkám) v MŠ. Dále zjistit, zda jsou chlapcům i dívkám nabízeny dostatečné možnosti k jejich specifickým aktivitám a činnostem, zda a jak je jejich genderové chování usměrňováno, podporováno a rozvíjeno. V teoretické části vymezuji pojmy jako je gender, genderové role, genderová identita, genderové stereotypy, učitel, vývoj, učení a výchova, RVP PV s ohledem na gender. Pomocí dotazníkového šetření bylo zjištěno, že učitelé vidí odlišnosti v tom, jaké hračky, aktivity a činnosti dítě volí v závislosti na genderu. Dívky i chlapci mají ale možnost volit si hračky a činnosti netypické pro jejich gender. Učitelé mají za to, že nabízejí dětem vyrovnaně činnosti, aktivity a hračky. Výsledky ukázaly, že nabídka aktivit podporující technické dovednosti není ve školkách příliš pestrá. Také chybí řešení pro to, jak by děti (většinou chlapci) mohly pracovat se svoji fyzickou silou a agresí, bojovností.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with Gender issue in kindergarten. The work consists of two parts – theoretical and practical. Main goal of this thesis is to find out, if attitude of teachers is different to children and how is it showed in kindergarden. And to find out if teachers offer enough possibilities for boys and girls to their special activities. If their gender behaviour is directed, supported and developed and how is it working. There are delimited terms as gender, gender roles, gender identity, gender stereotypes, teacher, development, learning and upbringing, RVP PV regard to gender in theoretical part. Using the survey it was found that teachers see differences in what toys, activities and events children are choosing depending on gender. Girls and boys have the possibility to choose toys and activities atypical for their gender. Teachers think that they offer kids a balanced amount of activities and toys . The results showed that the range of activities supporting technical skill is not in nurseries too varied. Also there is an absence of enough possibilities for children to learn how to work with their physical strength and aggression, combativeness .
