The impact of motivation on the loyalty of employees

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám otázkou, jaký vliv má motivace na loajalitu zaměstnanců. Práce se opírá o informace z dostupné odborné literatury, novin a podnikového intranetu. Součástí je i vlastní průzkum spokojenosti zaměstnanců, který probíhal formou dotazníku. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na část teoreticko-metodologickou a aplikační. Teoreticko-metodologická definuje výraz motivace, představuje základní motivační teorie a prostor je rovněž věnován samotnému vlivu osobnosti na motivaci. Taktéž je tvořena strukturou odměňování práce, různorodými způsoby ohodnocení pracovních pozic a podobami zaměstnaneckých výhod. Představila jsem také stále oblíbenější kafetéria systém a pokusila se charakterizovat jeho principy a cíle. V aplikační části jsem se zaměřila na společnost Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a. s., která v České republice působí od 1. července 2006. Věnovala jsem se představení poskytovaných zaměstnaneckých výhod, motivačních programů a v neposlední řadě i zaměstnaneckých soutěží. Součástí aplikační části je i vlastní průzkum, který byl zaměřen na spokojenost pracovníků a s tím související loajalitu. V závěru práce shrnuji získané poznatky a snažím se o vyhodnocení daného stavu. Při sběru dat z praxe jsem se, s přihlédnutím k počtu pracovních útvarů, specializovala jen na jednu divizi. Veškeré osobní hodnocení vychází z výsledků dotazníku a z průzkumu názorů jednotlivých pracovníků.

Abstract:

For my diploma thesis I am concerned with the subject of the motivation impact on employee loyalty. The sources used in this work are from publicly available scientific literature, newspaper articles and company web sites. Part of this thesis is from my own research into employee motivation using the results from a questionnaire. The thesis is divided into two sections, theoretical and practical. The theoretical section defines motivation, and describes fundamental motivation theories, and the environmental influences on motivation. The theoretical section also includes the structures of remuneration for work, various methods of job role appraisal, and types of employee benefits. The thesis also discusses the Cafeteria System that has been widely adopted and attempts to distinguish its principles and aims. For the practical section, I focused on Telefónica O2 Czech Republic Inc., who has operated in the Czech Republic since 1st July 2006. I was interested in introducing the offered benefits, motivational programmes and employee competitions. This part of the practical section contains the research that I performed - which focuses on employees satisfaction and loyalty to which it is connected. In conclusion I have summarised the acquired findings and tried to analyse the existing situation. I have focused on only one area of the company in respect to the amount of operating sections and have researched data from experience. I based the entire personal classification on the results of the questionnaire and on a survey of single employees opinions.
