Abstract:
This thesis explores gothic elements in the novels of a British author Daphne Du Maurier. It also focuses on Du Maurier’s private life and her writing career. The thesis attempts to describe the impact of the Gothic genre on her writings. Prior to the analysis of selected novels, it introduces the Gothic genre and its development from the 18th century.
