Astrophysics in teaching physics at high schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na některá dílčí témata gymnaziální astrofyziky především pomocí navržení nových úloh. První kapitola nabízí hlubší pohled na vybraná témata astrofyzikálního kurzu. Rozebírá spektrální analýzu a s ní spojené Kirchhoffovy zákony tepelného záření, problematiku záření absolutně černého tělesa a Dopplerův jev. Druhá a třetí kapitola předkládá základní pojmy spojené s astrofyzikou hvězd a galaxií, kombinuje vhodné středoškolské definice s početními úlohami i úlohami jiného typu. Ty mají seznámit studenty s novými jevy, respektive prokázat jejich porozumění vyřešením zadaného problému nebo demonstrovat využití různých početních technik a způsobů řešení. Náročnost úloh se pohybuje od základních aplikací vztahů až po komplexní úlohy vyžadující dílčí výpočty a kombinaci astrofyzikálních znalostí. Práce odkazuje na rozšiřující zdroje různé matematické a fyzikální úrovně, kombinuje primární a sekundární literaturu datovanou od poloviny devatenáctého století až po současnost.

Abstract:

This master thesis is focused on some partial topics of high-school astrophysics primarily by designing new tasks. The first chapter provides a deeper insight into selected topics of the astrophysical course. It analyses Kirchhoff’s laws of thermal radiation and the spectral analysis, the black-body radiation and the Doppler effect. The second and the third chapter present the basic concepts associated with astrophysics of stars and galaxies, combining appropriate high-school definitions with numerical tasks also with different problems. They are meant to acquaint students with some new phenomenon, respectively to prove their understanding by solving an assigned problem or to demonstrate the use of various numerical techniques and solutions. The difficulty of tasks ranges from basic application of some relationships to complex tasks requiring partial calculations and a combination of astrophysical knowledge. The work refers to some sources of various mathematical and physical level, combines primary and secondary literature dating from the mid-nineteenth century to the present.
