Constitutional evolution in the Czech countries after the year 1860 and The Austria-Hungarian reconciliation in the year 1867

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu ústavního vývoje v českých zemích po roce 1860 a Rakousko-Uherského vyrovnání z roku 1867. Úvod práce je věnován období obnovování ústavnosti, které nastalo po konci Bachova absolutismu v roce 1859, a vydání Říjnového diplomu a únorové ústavy. Dále pokračuje analýzou mezinárodní a vnitropolitické situace Rakouského císařství po prohrané válce s Pruskem. Tato událost vedla k nutnosti urovnání vnitropolitické situace říše a smíření se s Maďary prostřednictvím rakousko-uherského vyrovnání. Práce navazuje analýzou prosincové ústavy a komparací této ústavy s ústavou únorovou. Závěr práce je zaměřen na podobu mocnářství Rakousko-Uherska a reakce českého národa na vyrovnání a snahu o vyjednání českého vyrovnání.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is the analysis of the constitutional evolution in The Czech countries after the year 1860 and The Austria–Hungarian reconciliation in the year 1867. Firstly the era of renewal of the constitutionality which occurred after the end of the Bach´s absolutism is mentioned, as well as the revealing of the October Diploma and the February Constitution. It continues with the analysis of international and domestic political situation of the Austrian Empire after the lost war with Prussia. This event led to the need to settle internal political situation and to reconcile with the Magyars through The Austro-Hungarian reconciliation. In the next part the December Constitution is analyzed and compared with the February Constitution. The final part of the thesis is focused on the Austria-Hungary and on the reaction of the Czech to the above-mentioned settlement and their effort to achieve the Czech-Austrian settlement.
