Modelling of the Wheel-Rail Adhesion Contact in Driving System Dynamics

Abstract:

Disertacní práce svou teoretickou i experimentální cástí smeruje k rozšírení možností modelování adhezního kontaktu kola a kolejnice, zejména s ohledem na vyšetrování dynamického chování pohonných soustav kolejových vozidel. Predmetem experimentální cinnosti je merení adhezních charakteristik na zkušebním stavu a identifikace zmen trecích podmínek v prubehu prokluzu. Na základe teoretického rozboru je sestaven zjednodušený model prechodového valení pro využití v simulacním výpoctu, kde nelze použít predpoklad ustáleného valení ? napríklad pri rozjezdu z nulové rychlosti. Adhezní model je zaclenen do simulacního programu a výsledky simulace jsou porovnány s výsledky experimentu na skutecném vozidle, provedenými dríve školitelem.

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis in both its experimental and theoretical parts aims at extending the possibilities of modelling of the wheel?rail adhesion contact, especially with regards to investigation of dynamical behaviour of rail vehicle drives. The experimental work is focused on measurement of adhesion characteristics on a roller rig and identification of changes in friction conditions during sliding. Based on a theoretical analysis, a simplified model of transient rolling is developed. It is intended for use in numerical simulations where the ssumption of steady rolling cannot be made - e.g. in startup from zero speed. The model is incorporated in simulation software and the simulation results are compared to those from experiments at a real vehicle, performed by the supervisor.
